Sun Safety Tips for Parents
In addition to dressing your baby in sun protective clothing, here are a few more sun safety tips to keep in mind:
- Stay in the shade: Whenever possible, keep your baby in shaded areas, especially during peak sun hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
- Accessorize with hats: A wide-brimmed hat can provide extra protection for your baby’s face, ears, and neck.
- Use sunscreen wisely: For babies over six months, apply a baby-safe, broad-spectrum sunscreen to exposed areas. For babies under six months, it's best to avoid direct sunlight altogether.
- Hydrate: Keep your baby hydrated, as spending time in the sun can quickly lead to dehydration.
